2000 A.D. Illustrations From The Golden Age Of Science Fiction Pulps

How often do you have a chance to explore the fantastic future and, at the same time, to re-experience the nostalgic past? In  this fascinating collection of the great illustrations from science fiction's most memorable years, 1926-1953, Jacques Sadoul leads a guided tour of extraterrestrial masters, robots, astronauts and the cities of the future as they were envisioned in the pulp magazines of yesterday.

Front jacket illustration by Brian Miller from original illustrations by Virgil Finlay, circa 1943 and Hinton, circa 1947.

Jacques Sadoul was a French novelist, book editor and non-fiction author. His “Histoire de la Science Fiction Moderne” (1973) was a major encouragement for the serious, academic study of science-fiction, particularly among the East European peoples of that time.
