FROM CAVE PAINTING TO COMIC STRIP

Lancelot Hogben, a leading popular educator in 1949, offers an intriguing overview of humanity's journey in self-education through the use of calendars, alphabets, numerical systems, drawings, musical notation, pictures, and photographs.

This book explores the history of these developments, highlighting how "pictures serve as a universal language that can both unify and entertain mankind." Remarkably, it took humanity 200,000 years to create its first artwork around 25,000 B.C., followed by another 20,000 years during which symbols were developed to record days and years, along with depicting the surrounding world.
